Istrien

Die Küstenregionen von Istrien (Kroatien und Slowenien) zählen zu den beliebtesten Urlaubsregionen in Europa. Ein attraktives Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis (der Qualitäts-Tourismus hat in Istrien deutlich zugenommen), vorwiegend Fels- oder Kiesstrände mit glasklarem Meereswasser und die Nähe zu Mitteleuropa sind gute Gründe dafür. Hauptstadt von Istrien ist Pula. Die beiden schönsten Städte sind Piran (Slowenien) und Rovinj (Kroatien).

Die größte Stadt der Halbinsel ist Pula (Kroatien; rund 60.000 Einwohner). Dort gibt es ein sehr gut erhaltenes Amphitheater aus der (römischen) Antike.
